About AI Translator
AI Translator translates text between 12 languages using an AI model that runs on your own device — never on a server. In Chrome it can use the browser's dedicated Translator API for the best quality; in any other browser (or if you prefer), it uses the open LiquidAI LFM2.5 model compiled to WebAssembly. The WebAssembly model (about 150 MB) is downloaded once and cached locally.
How to use AI Translator

Which model should I pick?
Chrome's built-in Translator is best when available. For the WebAssembly engine, the smaller LFM2.5-230M model is fast and good for European languages; for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hindi, or Russian, pick the larger LFM2-VL-450M model, which handles those scripts much better.
